We may not have dogs available at all times, but please consider filling out an adoption application to get on our waiting list.  Please note that we do not ship dogs.  Interviews and home site inspections are required prior to adoption approval.
Please, we in desperate need of foster homes.  We have had a large number of dogs come in over the past few months, and we can only take in what we can foster.  More foster homes means more IGs saved!

We are getting new dogs soon. Please check our website often for new pics this month! And we still need foster homes!!

Greyhound Rescue
Maggie is black and white pied, 5 year old female Italian Greyhound and is rather large at 15 lbs.  She has spent her entire life just having puppies and doesn't know anything else.  She is slowly learning how to live in a house with people and what human affection is.  She is making progress slowly but surely.  She does seem to be very intellegent.

Available Italian Greyhounds
Jax, 12 year old fawn, male Italian Greyhound.  He is a sweet old man.  He is considered special needs because of his age.  But with most older IG's, he acts half his age.  He loves going on his daily walks with his foster mom.  He gets along well with other dogs but is currently fostered as a single dog home and is doing great. He is crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained. Jax can sleep in a crate at night, but he would prefer to share your bed or couch.  Jax came to us with hemangiomas on his body.  He had surgery to remove them and is doing well.  He is going to need a relaxed home that will care for him in his retirement.
Rocco, a 2 year old black tipped fawn male Italian Greyhound.  He is loving and likes to hug.  Rocco is bounding with energy.  He is always ready to play and will do well in a home with a playmate because he gets along with other dogs.  He is cat friendly.  Rocco likes to use his voice to tell everyone what he is feeling.  He needs a home that will be willing to give him time and can handle a very energetic IG. Rocco a very snuggly dog and will never pass up a blanket, lap, and nap time.  He is potty trained and leashe trained.  He is crate trained, but like any IG would prefer the bed over a crate.
Doby Sr. is a 6 year old blue Italian Greyhound.  He is loving and kind.  He has a sweet kind soul.  He follows his foster mom around like glue and is constantly nudging her for some attention.  Doby as never lived in a home before so he is getting used to soft areas, such as the couch and bed.  He loves a belly rub and will lay next to you for hours for a rub.  Doby has been diagnosed with hypothyroidism.  This means that he will need a pill twice a day for the rest of his life.  The medicine is inexpensive, and he loves his medicine in a bit of dog food or cheese.  He will need his thyroid tested once a year through a simple blood test that can be done at the same time as his shots.  He is slimming down well. He does well in a crate at night. Doby is doing well on potty manners and can already walk on a leash.
Violet is a 5-6 year old female Italian Greyhound.  She is very outgoing and friendly.  She is playing well with her foster sister and doing well learning how to stay in a crate.  Violet does well on a leash and is beginning to learn bout house breaking.  She needs to lose several pounds.

Elaina, 3-4 year old female Italian Greyhound.  White and fawn pied.  She is heartworm positive.  She will need treatment so it will be a while until she will be available.  More info available soon.
UPDATE: Elaina has started her heartworm treatment.

Adoption pending
Amani, 6-7 year old red fawn female Italian Greyhound.  This little girl is can be called a "little bitty iggy."  She is super sweet and always wagging her tail.  Amani loves to be held and have a belly rub.  Amani stares into your eyes with patience that only an older IG has.  She has a calm demeanor and reserved air about her.
UPDATE: Amani has tested heartworm negative and had her shots.  She is scheduled for her dental and spay on Friday.  After a short recovery, she will be ready to snuggle her way into your home forever.
Tiny Tim, 2 year old, red fawn male Italian Greyhound.  Tiny Tim's name truly fits him.  He came to us through a long journey.  He was found by some kind people that saw him wandering on the side of the road after being hit by a car.  They took him to a vet clinic in Denham Springs, where he had his back left leg amputated.  He is also heartworm positive. It is a sad story, but don't tell Tiny Tim that because he has a great spirit.  He doesn't even know he is an amputee.  He has learned to compensate by leaning against you for attention.  Tiny Tim wants all the attention he can get.  He loves a good back scratch.  He will be with us through his heartworm treatment.
UPDATE:  Tiny Tim has started his heartwom treatment and has had his shots.
